Siras Systems staff is well experienced and knowledgeable concerning special education, state reporting and MTSS. The corporate office is located in Goleta CA. Siras Systems is dedicated to the development of a comprehensive user friendly special education IEP development and student reporting system with the ability to be linked to other SIS systems.

Company Description

Siras Systems formally Educational Paperwork Solutions (EPS), specializes in the development of customized database solutions that are web based. In an effort to upgrade the technology to the most current state-of-the-art enterprise class software EPS transitioned to Siras Systems to bring in new investment partners and broaden our opportunities. Siras Systems remains the standard in educational software solutions and continues to innovate and expand its entire MTSS product nationally. 

Siras Systems had the first computerized IEP program in California. It has been in business for over 20 years. No other company can compete with our experience with IEP development; CALPADS reporting; and customer/support service. Currently 16 SELPAs; about 200 districts use our product and services for the development of IEPs, caseload management; computerize the MTSS process; and integrating with the California Department of Educations (CDE) CALPADS-State Reporting system.

Currently we have seven people on staff. Our key staff Steve and Brian have well over a decade of experience specifically in the development of customized IEP and Student Reporting software.

Steve Ormbrek

President

Steve is founder and President of Siras Systems formerly Educational Paperwork Solutions (EPS). He brings 10 years of experience as a special education teacher prior to starting Siras Systems. He has a Masters in Educational Technology; BA in Educational Science; and a BS in clinical Psychology. Steve has been the president and founder of Siras Systems established in 1997. Siras Systems is a company that develops customized database systems and paperwork solutions that focuses on special education. Steve also comes to SIRAS Systems with a very unique perspective as a special education teacher and as a parent of a special needs child.

Brian Marcontell

Vice President

Brian is the co-founder and Vice President of Siras Systems. He comes to Siras Systems/EPS with a BS in Computer Science from UCSB. He was employed as a computer technician for the Santa Barbara schools for three years, then retained a position as Director of Technology Services for Pacific Graduate Institute for three years and is currently head of Application Development for Siras Systems/EPS for the past 10 years.

Joe Masinter

Systems Developer

Joe is Siras System’s primary web developer and software engineer. He has been working in web development professionally since 2005. He has been employed by Siras Systems since 2008. He has extensive experience working with enterprise Java frameworks, relational databases, advanced web interfaces, and Internet systems administration. Joe graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BS and also is an active musician.

Michael Brown

Support Manager

Michael is the Support Manager for SIRAS Systems. He is a well-rounded individual with an extensive background in Customer Service. Michael has earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management (BSBM), and Master of Education (M.A.ED). Michael has more than 10 years of experience in the educational field. He worked for a Charter School in Kern County as the Blended Learning and Testing Manager where he was first introduced to SIRAS. His 5 years of experience, as a user of SIRAS, brings a different perspective to the SIRAS Team.

Dr. Geri Murphy

Secretary/Treasurer

Geri is co-founder and Secretary/Treasurer for Siras Systems and VP of marketing. She was a key associate of EPS for over 8 years. Geri Murphy, Ph.D. has an extensive background in the areas of special education/student services administration, training and organizational systems development. She holds a doctorate in organizational psychology and a masters degree in educational psychology. She also holds an administrative credential, a life teaching credential (English), a pupil personnel services credential, and is a licensed educational psychologist. She has over thirty years of experience in working with children, youth, families, schools, school districts, city, state, and federal agencies to establish exemplary programs and service delivery models.

Dan Brown

VP Sales and Marketing

Dan Brown is the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for SIRAS Systems, and the President of K-12 Consulting. Dan has over 25 years of experience in the K-12 Education software industry and has worked with over 30 software systems. He started his career with dynamic companies such as PowerSchool, Apple, 4GL School Solutions, Infinite Campus, Kaplan, and Follett. In 2009 Dan founded K-12 Consulting to engage education technology challenges across a broader spectrum. K-12 Consulting has helped dozens of education agencies and businesses improve their technology initiatives across instructional management, special education, data reporting & analysis and student information management.

Melanie Avery

Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper

Melanie is Siras Systems administrative assistant and bookkeeper. She has been with SIRAS Systems for the past 7 year. Melanie is qualified in Excel, QuickBooks and FileMaker. She also assists in the development of agreements with our clients.
